Supply Chain "resilience" is the Supply Chain's ability to respond and recover quickly to potential disruptions. It can return to its original situation or grow by moving to a new, more desirable state in order to increase customer service, market share, and financial performance.

Service 4.0 allows companies to transform the way they offer and delivery services. Customers are also demanding this change—they expect a proactive and customized service, delivered through multiple, integrated channels.

Transformation is about making fundamental changes in how business is conducted in order to help cope with a shift in market environment and achieve a sustainable, quantum improvement in performance. Specifically, this fundamental change can be in the company's corporate strategy, business model, organization, culture, people, or processes.

Growth can be achieved through corporate marketing (i.e. organic growth) or M&A (i.e. inorganic growth). The traditional approach to growth focuses on product differentiation and then marketing this differentiation. However, research and experience has shown, the differentiated, superior product doesn't always win the customer.

The pursuit to tap the benefits derived from analytics-driven insights is gaining momentum everywhere. Companies are striving to become insight-powered enterprises—where there is a culture of utilizing data-driven insights to make decisions at all levels within the enterprise.

Today's C-suite is making significant investment in new technologies but fails to achieve full value. Technologies are being deployed in pockets or silos without a Strategy for scaling the Innovation from these technologies across the enterprise. Unable to scale their Innovation, organizations are not realizing the full benefits of their technology investments.

Most leaders face difficulties in aligning their business and talent priorities. The process has several disconnects—e.g., between talent and value—that proves quite costly. The identification of critical roles in the company can get the executives to overlook some key positions that are vital for growth but are not so obvious in the organization. The leaders often do not track roles that require a high degree of responsibility, strong interpersonal and technical capabilities, and skills to promptly respond to customers' changing needs. They are unaware of any growing discontent in employee ranks with their jobs and there aren’t any succession plans in place for mission critical roles that are not so eminent.
