Advisory

Independent advice for the decisions that shape your business — grounded in the numbers.

Business decisions are easier with an experienced adviser who has seen the situation before: whether to expand, how to price an opportunity, where the business is leaking profit, or how to position for a sale or succession.

Dawgen Global advises business owners, boards and investors across the Caribbean on strategy, performance improvement and commercial decisions. Our advice combines regional knowledge with rigorous financial analysis — and we stay close enough to help you implement.

The challenge

Many Caribbean businesses are owner-led and thin on management depth. Big decisions — entering a market, making an acquisition, restructuring, succession — arrive occasionally, with high stakes and few independent voices to test them. Meanwhile, operational performance issues accumulate quietly until they affect the bottom line.

Who it is for

  • Owners and boards facing strategic or investment decisions
  • Companies seeking to improve profitability and performance
  • Businesses preparing for sale, investment or succession
  • Regional groups needing independent review of subsidiaries
  • Banks and investors wanting independent business reviews

Signs you need us

  • A major decision — expansion, acquisition, exit — is coming and you want independent input
  • Margins or cash flow are declining and the causes are unclear
  • The business depends heavily on the owner, and succession is unresolved
  • Different parts of the business perform differently and you do not know why
  • A lender or investor wants an independent view of the business

How it works in practice

Illustrative example. A family-owned group was considering expansion into a neighbouring territory but the decision rested on intuition. We assessed the market, modelled the financial case under realistic scenarios, reviewed their operational readiness and identified an acquisition target as an alternative entry route. The group entered the market through the acquisition, reaching scale two years faster than the organic plan.

Where we work

We offer all of our services in every territory we serve, with every engagement planned, reviewed and quality-controlled from our Caribbean headquarters in Kingston, Jamaica. Some regulated services are performed by affiliated firms; we will advise you of the arrangements when you make a request.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from hiring a consultant for a specific project?
Advisory work is flexible: it can be a single decision, a periodic sounding board, or an ongoing relationship that grows with the business.
Can you work with our board?
Yes. We regularly support boards — facilitating strategy sessions, preparing decision materials and giving independent views.
Do you only advise on problems?
No. Much of our advisory work is about opportunities: growth, new markets, succession and positioning the business for its next stage.
How do we start?
With a conversation about the decision or issue you face. We will tell you honestly whether we can add value and how.
How are your fees set?
Our fees are tailored to each client, based on the scope and complexity of the work and the agreed deliverables, and are set out in your engagement letter.

IN BRIEF Actuarial technique is not a service for insurers. It is a method for putting a number on uncertainty — and most organisations are already carrying uncertainty they have priced by assumption rather than by measurement. Will the Fund Last? Social Security Sustainability in the Caribbean
Almost every Caribbean territory runs a national social security scheme, and almost all face the same arithmetic: an ageing population, a shrinking contributor base, and benefits that will one day outrun the money coming in. The actuary’s task is to say when — and what it would take to change the answer.   Nearly every...
